What is Bonae Memoriae other than a Latin phrase that we might stumble on when trying to pronounce? It means, “of happy memory.” It, for now, is the name of my work, of this site, and my mission statement in short. Working with dementia we are never sure what the person we are sitting next to might be able to recall, or what they will remember from our time together. So we approach our visit with great care and creativity, working to make this time joyful for that person. If we do this, it will be a happy memory. As the saying goes, “People will not always remember what you said, but they will always remember how you made them feel.”
Here you will find information about how to get in touch with me about freelance work, the Purple Angel program, dementia resources, and a blog featuring educational posts about dementia, the latest news in research, stories of those living with, and caring for someone with dementia, artful approaches to care, and Dementia Compass which looks a was to become better care partners.
