What is Bonae Memoriae other than a Latin phrase that we might stumble on when trying to pronounce? It means, “of happy memory.” It, for now, is the name of my work, of this site, and my mission statement in short. Working with dementia we are never sure what the person we are sitting next to might be able to recall or what they will remember from our time together. So we approach our visit with great care and creativity, working to make our time joyful for that person. If we do this, it will be a happy memory. As the saying goes, “People will not always remember what you said, but they will always remember how you made them feel.”
Here you will find information about how to get in touch with me for consulting work, the Purple Angel program, dementia resources, and a blog featuring a wide range of topics and stories. Let us Educate, Serve, and Support those living with dementia and our community. Let us help them find or maintain Purpose, Dignity, and Joy.
All of us are living with dementia so I invite you to follow along. Favorite this site, follow the blog, and like my Facebook page.
